Journey to Grenlandia

New Light sounds kubyz

Day 19 (12.09.2004)

We have slept well.
Stuck in Sudak on the beach did not have any meaning and I insisted on a trip to the New world.
I myself have been there countless times. But pulled back again and snava.
This place is in the Crimea does not seem in principle - so well there.

Boarded the Shuttle bus was Packed with people and went to plunge into Paradise.
Small but very cosy settlement of the New world is located seven kilometers West of Sudak.
The history of the village goes back to antiquity, when it was discovered by the Greeks and was called "Paradise "("Paradise ").
In the early twentieth century the settlement was called New world.
According to legend, Tsar Nicholas II visited the wine cellars of Prince Golitsyn and tasted his wine and said, "Now I see everything in a new light. ".

The beauty of the nature here is simply amazing.
It all starts with a winding serpentine road, which begins immediately upon departure from Sudak.
One side patisamerica the mount Falcon with almost vertical slope on the other cliffs.
The road is narrow and two oncoming cars can pass each other with each other using specially constructed pockets in which is placed exactly half of the body.
Local drivers, however so valiantly lead, sometimes heart-stopping - as well as the brakes or not be able to fit into the rotation.

Soon the panorama of the village and Blue Bay on the Bank of which it is located.
The village itself is very small and is buried in the thickets of pine and juniper.
A little further starts the reserve in a New Light.
It grows tree-like junipers. Some trees several hundred years.

They say that these plants emit volatile substances - volatile, which have a strong bactericidal action.
In the usual coniferous forest of the middle band is easy to breathe IMENNO of them.
And junipers are fragrant volatile to order more than pine and spruce.
Pleasant for humans scent of the high juniper unbearable for different kinds of parasites and harmful microorganisms.
Volatile emissions of juniper kill 30% of air-borne microorganisms.
One hectare of juniper forest in the day can give as much of these substances that their would be enough for the recovery of the whole city!
These bactericidal properties of wood make it extremely resistant to decay.
In ancient literature it is mentioned the power and irresistibility of juniper flavor.
And in the famous legend of Jason and Medea lulled them snake, guarded at Colchis the Golden fleece.

I always, when on arrival at Sudak sick, the first thing the food at the sanctuary and roam all day through the local mountains .
Breathe deeply. The air flows from the mountains, filled with aromas of juniper and mountain herbs, mingling with the sea breeze form the rare curative properties of the air.
The next day cold as a hand removes!

Live juniper sometimes up to 1000 years, in the Crimea - three-six centuries.
However, juniper does not take root in the cities and dying in protest against excessive air pollution.
Despite the fact that juniper in the Crimea is growing in many places, he is extremely small and is still actively exterminated on crafts, which are annually exported tons of tourists outside of the Crimea.
In recent years it has become a lucrative business.
Going poaching relict wood.
Poaching has reached unprecedented proportions.

In the summer in the Crimea there are more than 700 stalls in different cities selling products from juniper.
And although there are quite a lot of fakes (when you take an ordinary pine or cypress and rubbed oogieloves oil for the smell) ,still the share of these products from juniper is very large.
Only 2003 year poachers were cut about 800 trees.
If you do not take action now, experts predict that in 10 -15 years, the juniper tree may disappear from the Peninsula of Crimea.
It grows slowly and gives a little of the germinating seeds. It will be very difficult and it will take centuries.

Our foot landing disembarked from the bus to the centre of the village.
After the cold and rain was still cool.
And though the sun warmed vengeance prickly wind was forced to shrink a little.
Our journey of course began with the trail Golitsyn, the envelope of mount Koba-Kaya from the sea. The course entrance fee is 5 UAH.
In a natural grotto in the mountain is located the wine cellars winery.
Kind of like here when we were singing Chaliapin educause champagne Prince.
And his voice thundered over the entire coast from Alushta to Koktebel.
Guides rubbing the brains of countless groups of tourists, by deceiving on the go and coming up with new details and new celebrities attending these places.

Hence, good panoramic view of the Bay Bandit - the second of the three color Novyi Svet bays.
Colored they are called from the fact that the water in them has a different shade.
Bandit Bay is slightly greenish, probably due to the numerous algae.

Going through through grotto with bats on Cape Kapchik, we got on the air just at the place where Andrew made the opposite movement download the film amphibian Man.

On the rocks a little away from the hole to the side of the grotto and settled down to sunbathe.
The good people there almost was not, and the water was clean and clear. Swimming is absolutely not pulled.
Rinat fell asleep and began snoring as usual.
Snoring it rang out across the Bay Bandit, the echo Bouncing off the rocks.
As long as we are there were digested in the Bay went three or four excursion boat from Walleye.
Voice guide a large company wouldl perfectly audible to us.
As a result, we became the owners of interesting information about what's on the bottom at a depth or 20, or 30, or 40 meters, is whether the Greek Galleon, or an Italian felucca, or German submarine.
Each subsequent guide on the boat told his version.
We indeed had fun making assumptions about what will tell us the next boat. Poor tourists.

The kids are so worn out that they would not have moved from the place if the BOJ I in the form of an ultimatum raised them and took on king's beach.
This beach is located in the third blue Bay.
And supposedly (now I unclear what to believe) it was visited by Tsar Nicholas 2, then bathed and roasted in the sun his aristocratic ass.
To get there I had to give a little hook and down into the valley before the mountain Sentry-Both. On its bottom we went to sea.

The beach over the last ten years has become much dirtier.
The people here were insane.
Once the water is clean and attracted even the Emperor, were now all divorced from fuel in numerous boats and motor boats of corsirella back and forth like a subway.
On the beach stood a stall selling beer and water. Debris was a lot.
Nevertheless, we lie for an hour.
Rinat saw scuba divers in full combat gear and went to build bridges.
It is then interested greatly.

Back we went when it was about five hours.
I'm still agitated children to climb on the eagle from the land.
And no one regretted it. Opens the view from there is breathtaking.
Not so sure how the mountain Falcon, but still nothing.
The settlement of the New world was in the palm of your hand.
Hence perfectly viewed the body of the factory of sparkling wines.

Of course first of all the village became famous thanks to the efforts of Prince Lev Golitsyn, who founded here the plant.

The Prince considered the true founder of Russian champagne wine .
He studied at the faculty of lawnical faculty of the Sorbonne, in Paris, then continued his education at Moscow University, graduating with the title of master of Roman law.

He began his ascetic work of the tract Magarach that at Yalta.
Then dumped it and moved, obeying only their own intuition, to the East of Alushta, in the places of the Crimea - a rather harsh and seemingly little fitted for vines.

He bought in 1878, the Georgian Prince Chirgadze wild tract of Paradise , an area of 230 hectares at the foot of mount Falcon, a few kilometers from Sudak, and immediately launched a storm of activity.
Here, it seemed contrary to common sense, he laid the collection vineyard of more than 600 varieties of vines.
In parallel, Lev Sergeyevich began carefully to study the grape varieties of other lands and regions of the Crimea, vovlekli in this work the best scientists of the Nikitsky school of winemaking.

It's only been a few years, and the name of the lion of Golitsyn has become widely known not only at Home but also in France, Germany, Spain.
The success was overwhelming: Golitsyn wines won gold medals in Moscow, in Kharkov, in Paris.
In 1900, Prince Golitsyn participated in the world exhibition of winemaking as an expert.
The best tasters of the world evaluate the quality of the wine competition and tasting is done blind - until the last moment no one saw where they poured, and the wine glasses had each a number.

After the tasting a dinner was given to which were served wine, received the exhibition's highest award. The Chairman of the Committee of experts of the wines of Comte Chandon, traditionally won the competition, raised a glass to the success and excellence of French winemakers - he was sure that he drinks his champagne.

Immediately he was followed by Prince Golitsyn...
"I am very grateful to you, count, for advertising, made in France, my wine you drink now".
I WAit was noted that the glass was a wine made by a Prince Golitsyn.

From this moment on, Prince Golitsyn, he became chief winemaker of the Imperial court and received opportunities and support of Emperor Alexander III.
In addition to the outstanding achievements of the Prince, the king was fascinated with the similarity in views: both were observed with alarm the harmfulness enhance the drunkenness of the people (the proliferation of cheap vodka in the mass of the Russian people was a real bomb).
And believed that the best way to deal with him is to popularize and make accessible to the common man natural high-quality wines, whose consumption in moderate doses for centuries, prized both aesthetic and therapeutic point of view.

Under the leadership of Prince Golitsyn had established such a stronghold of domestic wine as New world, Massandra, Magarach, Arhaderesse, Abrau-Dyurso.
By 1910, Golitsyn spent on the development of winemaking his entire fortune.
Everything he had devoted his life, could be irretrievably lost, go into decline.
The Prince decides to give his estate to Emperor Nicholas II, in the hope that the Emperor will be able to implement his cherished dream – to create on the basis of the estate of the New world "Academy of wine".
Alas, the last dream of Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyn did not come true.
In 1914 the First world war.
And in 1916 Golitsyn died and they buried him in a New Light.

After a long period of decline caused by the world wars and civil wars, the production of champagne began to again gain momentum.
In 1919, Professor A. M. Frolov-bagreyev established the production of Soviet champagne.
He has independently developed a formulation of blends of champagne and invented the new technology of champagnization in the apparatus of high pressure(akratoforah) .
After the introduction of the tank method the Soviet winemakers had the idea of wine champagnization in a continuous stream.
This method allows to significantly increase the volume produplanes of sparkling wines and to reduce their cost.

The whole cycle of production of sparkling wine tank technology is about 25-30 days, versus many months and even years, as in the case of "bottle" fermentation.
It should be noted that this technology is used today by most enterprises, creating a sparkling wine in the former USSR.
However, one must keep in mind that any tank production method does not provide such a high quality sparkling wines, which is obtained by fermentation in the bottle.

Date of occurrence of the champagne is considered to be the year 1668, when the monk and the Keeper of the wine cellar Dom Perignon has treated his friends to an unusual wine.
A new drink was not unlike any other: a small silvery bubbles, silently murmuring rose from the bottom of the glasses, transparent wine foamed and played, as if alive.
Now plant "New world" produces several varieties of champagne by the classical French technology.
Major foreign consumers of Novyi Svet champagne, now are Germany and Russia.

Incoming raw material goes through a full cycle of technological processing: clarification(another term lining is made with fish glue and tannin, while the interaction of colloidal solutions, biochemical reactions, and the cloudy layer is deposited) filtration, cold processing ;
blending (mixing of wine materials);
tab edition (pouring blended mixture into bottles, the bottles are closed by plastic plugs).

For 3 years extract bottle four times, shifted and stirred up, after which the bottles are directed to remuage (reduction of sediment to the tube) and then disgorging(to clear the precipitate).
After disgorging followed by a test exposure and finish (the sticker labels, choleretic, etc.).
Bottles sealed with corks.
Nadevaya wire bridle-muselet that holds the cork.

Depending on the amount of sugar, addingwith heater after disgorging sparkling wines are of the following types:
Brut(mass concentration of sugars no more than 1.5 g/cm).
Who knows - this is real champagne. In France and other European countries semisweet sorts there.
dry (mass concentration of sugars 2.0 to 2.5 g/cm)
semi-dry (mass concentration of sugars 4.0 to 4.5 g/cm)
dry (mass concentration of sugars 6,0-6,5 g/cm ) (extract about a year)

The best varieties of French sparkling wines are an incredible amount of money not ours.
And the Novy Svet Brut - only 120 rubles!!!!!!
And surprisingly, many can't drink it - say not sweet at all.
So our people are accustomed to the semi-sweet Soviet champagne.

Semi-sweet champagne than anything I want to eat chocolate or orange.
And Brut is good to drink by itself.
He is so noble that it does not require anything that would set off the natural taste.

Unfortunately Novyi Svet champagne in Ufa can be found.
Descending from the Koba-Koya, he discovered that he had lost his purse and ran upstairs again to look.
And we, meanwhile, Rinat enjoyed in the shade of a volatile.
To our surprise he found her - it was the first time we found lost.
All the same, what is changing for the better:)

In the village decided to go to the waterfront and eat. Nothing whets the appetite like a six-hour climbing slopes.
And suddenly, in the shade of a juniper, I saw two peasants selling homemade musical instruments.
Near the maracas , flutes lying sama real CUBIZ!
Rinat and Marat was on fire. We spent about an hour talking.
The guys represented the local Bohemians.
One of Kubasov was extremely striking.
He gave such a powerful sound that is the vibration wave swept over the body and organs, looking at the distant anatomical parts.
It ended thosem what we have done Andrew (so called wizard) ordering on two such kubyz and took the address.
The cost was 1200 R.
But it was worth it.

Back at the perch and cleaned up, the rest of the day spent in travelling by night perch.
Among the motley crowd dressed tourists.
Already accustomed to the wild surroundings, felt at ease.
Probably because Mowgli felt when he tried to live among people.
Night walleye is of course great. It sparkles with lights and booming music.
Countless cafes and restaurants lure visitors in different programs and performances.
Want a circus, like a stripper, and no - so you ladies fighting in the mud!
As a result, we chose a modest restaurant "Denise" with live music.
The food was of course disgusting. The usual thing for Walleye.
But the guys worked hard and tolerably well played classic rock hits.
Sat for two hours and enjoyed.
A good day
